Enrico Filippo Maligno

Enrico Filippo graduated from the Conservatory of Vicenza in 2008 with highest honours and distinction. During his studies, he worked with Marco Rogliano, Giovanni Angeleri and Ilya Grubert. From 2009 onwards, he continued his studies privately in Berlin with Christophe Horak, second violin principal of the Berliner Philharmoniker. In 2015, he obtained a Master’s degree in Performance from the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano, studying with Klaidi Sahatçi, Konzertmeister of the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich. From 2018 to 2020, he also attended the Master Performance Soloist programme at the Zurich University of the Arts, studying with Nora Chastain.
His orchestral career began at the age of seventeen with the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. From 2009, he became a permanent member of the Solisti di Pavia, conducted by Enrico Dindo, with whom he developed extensive experience in both solo and chamber music. He has also collaborated with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.
In 2016, he won a position in the first violin section of the Berner Symphonieorchester and, in 2017, a position in the second violin section of the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, where he remains a member. With the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, he has performed in leading concert halls around the world under the direction of some of the most distinguished conductors of the international music scene, including Paavo Järvi, Semyon Bychkov, Herbert Blomstedt, Giovanni Antonini and Franz Welser-Möst.
From 2018 to 2022, he was concertmaster and leader of the Colibrì Ensemble in Pescara, collaborating with musicians such as Sergio Azzolini, Enrico Dindo, Alexander Lonquich, Calogero Palermo, Alessandro Moccia, Christophe Horak and Bruno Delepelaire.
Chamber music plays a central role in his artistic career. He has studied with the Quartetto di Cremona, with Andrea Nannoni at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, and as part of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), where he worked with Heime Müller, Hatto Beyerle, Christophe Giovaninetti and Johannes Meissl. In 2016, he founded the zArt quartett, with which he further explored the string quartet repertoire through encounters with Andrea Repetto, Lorenzo Coppola, Eberhard Feltz, Valentin Erben and Rainer Schmidt at the Musikhochschule Basel.
With his chamber ensembles, he has performed at major institutions and festivals in Italy and abroad, including the Società del Quartetto di Milano, Società del Quartetto di Vicenza, Società dei Concerti di Milano, Trieste and Trento, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the Concerts at the Quirinale, the LongLake Festival in Lugano, the Dino Ciani Festival in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Associazione Filarmonica di Rovereto and the Gravedona Chamber Music Festival. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists including Enrico Dindo, Alexander Lonquich, Klaidi Sahatçi, Bruno Giuranna, Giovanni Sollima, Christophe Horak and Monika Leskovar.
Since 2021, he has been the Artistic Director of the Festival Sette Parole, a chamber music festival founded with the aim of promoting the chamber music repertoire and fostering a closer and more meaningful relationship between audiences and musicians.
Since 2026, he has been the first violin of the Quartetto Noûs. He plays a 1929 Ansaldo Poggi violin.
