Parma-born soprano Barbara Zanichelli‘s favorite repertoire includes both contemporary and early music. She performs as a soloist or with vocal ensembles such as the Athestis Chorus and worked with conductors like Claudio Cavina, Ottavio Dantone, Vittorio Parisi, Luca Pianca, Pál Németh, Jeffrey Tate, Eliahu Inbal, Riccardo Muti, Neeme Järvi, Thierry Fischer, Myung-whun Chung, Barthold Kuijken, Pedro Memelsdorff, Michael Wendeberg and Umberto Benedetto Michelangeli. She has premiered various works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Stefano Gervasoni, William Blank, Gavin Bryars, Léo Kupper, Miloš Štědroň, Nicoals Bolens and Francesco Hoch and can look back on a large number of radio and CD recordings for labels such as Erato, Chandos, Virgin, Naïve, Tactus, Pavane and Aeon. Barbara Zanichelli teaches in Italy at the Conservatorio Ghedini in Cuneo as well as in Switzerland at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano. Furthermore, she is responsible for vocal coaching in the Italian repertory at the conservatories in Geneva and Neuchâtel. She regularly gives master classes for early music at many renowned institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
